SUPPER POWER
The Power of Supper:
Eating supper together as a family, within a community, has numerous benefits that strengthen bonds, foster communication, and nourish individuals holistically.
1. Enhanced Communication: Gathering around a dinner table encourages open dialogue creating an opportunity for family members to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. What did you sing tonight? How did it make you feel?
2. Strengthened Family Bond: When families consistently eat supper together, they develop a deeper sense of belonging and togetherness.
3. Improvement in Mental Health: Regular community suppers have been shown to positively impact mental health. The familial support and connectedness that arises during these meals provides a sense of stability, reducing stress levels and promoting overall mental well-being.
4. Healthier Eating Habits: Eating supper together encourages healthier eating habits and food choices. When families and communities dine together, it becomes easier to prepare nutritious and balanced meals.
5. Cultural Appreciation and Understanding: Supper gatherings can be a platform for cultural exchange and appreciation.
6. Building Traditions and Memories: When families and communities eat supper together regularly, they create lasting traditions and memories. CP Kids Choir hopes to create cherished moments that become part of its shared history and be a source of comfort, joy, and nostalgia as time passes and children grow.
7. Feed and Be Fed: There is a joy in serving and a joy in being served, especially in the middle of the week. Families will be given the opportunity to contribute when and how they would like to help. The goal is to share and remember the importance in receiving and giving.
